01 Mar Spectacular Sailfish in the month of February
it’s been quite a few years since we’ve had extremely cold weather here in South Florida with temperatures dipping down into the 30s winds up to 40 miles an hour. Not very pleasant out there, but once it subsided, the fishing went off the charts every days where boat caught and released double digits Sailfish. unfortunately the timing of most of selfish tournaments were off by a week or two. It seemed like whenever there was a selfish tournament. The weather was too nice. They’re quite amount of different species being caught during those tournaments, including wahoo, kingfish, mahi, and cobia. Water temperatures are hovering around 72 to 74° making it just ideal for winter time fishing. The best time obviously to go fishing is just after a cold front or as we like to say here in South Florida a cool front. The method to catch most of these fish has been with two kites and live bait. Live bait consisting mostly of goggle Eyes threadfin herring, and sardines. That was the cool friends have seemed to slow down so we thought the Sailfish still has been pretty good
