Grouper
Habitat:
Gag, red, black and gray grouper are the most widely distributed of the Florida groupers. Mature grouper mostly inhabit waters 60 feet or more. We catch them with live bait or large cut bait. Also Goliath grouper can be found in shallow wares and will take a live snapper or google eye. These fish grow up to 500 plus pounds. I’ve seen a 300 pound fish under my boat at the dock !
